NOT WORKING HAS BECOME A LITTLE MORE BEARABLE

Staying at my parents during the week was a little depressing before, but now I can tolerate it more because I know there's light at the end of the tunnel. In just two weeks from now, I'll be working at the Lacombe Globe en route to earning a steady paycheque again. So I'm just going to enjoy this time for now.

I'm also in a good mood because a verdict was reached on the Michael Jackson case, meaning hopefully the U.S. media will start focusing its attention on something else, because I got tired of hearing about it. It turns out he was found not guilty on all 10 counts of child molestation related charges. Two media guys on CNN were joking about the verdict following the judge's announcement, one saying he'd be singing "Beat It", but the other topping that by saying he'd be doing the moonwalk. My personal view on the whole thing is that regardless of the real truth behind the matter, Michael Jackson needs to start making smarter decisions if he's to fix himself up. Hanging around with little boys and letting them hang out in your bed will probably lead to more problems.

Danielle's brother Jason (while I was on stage getting my picture taken at my convocation ceremony): Alistair we're going partying tonight!

Me (to Shawn Thompson following the ceremony): No I was your favorite student.
Shawn Thompson: No comment.

I returned to Prince George from Kamloops via Greyhound yesterday. I was down in Kamloops for my convocation ceremony on Thursday morning, which turned out to be great minus the heat I felt as a result of wearing a black grad gown, sitting on chairs situated over concrete in front of the Campus Activity Center and the sun bearing down on us. The weather was like 25 degrees outside but I felt much hotter than that.

Throughout the rest of my Kamloops visit I:
- drank a lot of alcohol.
- played two matches of tennis.
- watched 11 straight episodes of Chappelle's Show Season 2.
- went to Earls, the Fox and Hounds, Rivers, Boston Pizza and a house party.

I'm not sure when my next visit to Kamloops will be, but I plan on going down to Vernon for Funtastic even though I start work at the Lacombe Globe that week. The Globe's office is closed on Canada Day (July 1), so I plan to drive to Vernon following my Thursday shift (June 30) to be in Vernon well in time for our first game on Friday. Hopefully we can improve on our 1-3 record from last year. I'm also going to be getting a new digital camera for grad and the new job so I'll be able to start posting more pictures on my blog. Be prepared for that.
